I just wanted to take a moment and share how important, I think, it is to sign up for rewards accounts at retail and grocery stores. If signing up is FREE and easy AND you get freebies and discounts, why not?? Most accounts can now be accessed by just giving your phone number at checkout. You don’t have to carry 100 key tags on your keychains any more! 😉
I’ve been a Staples Rewards Member for over 10 years now. I don’t buy a ton of stuff there, but I do shop their sales! I think in the last couple of years, we’ve bought 2 computer monitors (last Black Friday) and a scanner. Besides that, it’s just been office supplies here and there.
Yet, they keep sending me their store coupons via mail and e-mail. Trust me, I’m not complaining! Sometimes they are just a percentage off a purchase or, for example, $5 off a $25 purchase. My favorite is when I receive FREE money to spend in the store. About 2 weeks ago, I was shopping at Staples and spending a FREE $5 coupon I received in the mail. After I checked out, the register printed another coupon attached to my receipt. It was for $10 off school supplies. That’s it. Just a FREE $10 to spend in the store. There are usually a few exclusions that include ink and electronics.
So I headed back into the store and grabbed all of this…for 47¢ out of pocket!
8 – Staples Composition Notebooks – Wide Ruled – 50¢ each, normally $3.29.
5 – Crayola Crayons 24 pack – 50¢ each, normally $3.29.
2 – Crayola Colored Pencils 12 count box – 97¢ each, normally $3.49.
2 – Staples Kids’ 5″ Scissors $1.00 each!
(This came to a total of $10.47. I had to spend $10.00 or more.)
These prices are still valid this week. There is a better deal on the kids’ scissors in the weekly ad. They are offering a 2 pack for 97¢. Except for the scissors, all of these items can be ordered online also. The best part is you can opt for FREE in store pick up and everything will be ready when you walk in!
There is also a $5 off a $25 purchase coupon in the weekly add!
Our budget is pretty tight and we can’t always donate cash money. But this was literally FREE MONEY TO SPEND. Easy way of giving back and helping out if you can’t afford giving money! I have already donated some of my extra’s and freebies to a local elementary school this year. The items above are going to my church for Operation Christmas Child. You can only use so many crayons and notepads at home right??
Just something to consider…
